Tucked away in a serene farmland setting, 30 minutes east of downtown Seattle, you'll find Urban Forms Design Center; a glassblowing studio and school. UFDC is a wonderful place to work, learn and grow. With a studio production line and full curriculum of beginning through advanced glassblowing, UFDC's mission is simple; Provide an exceptional glassblowing experience, always. From our instructional programs, to the signature studio glasswork we manufacture on-site, to our seating and observation areas, UFDC provides glassblowing excellence.
UFDC is the eastsides first and only center for glassblowing education. We offer year round classes in beginning, intermediate, and advanced glassblowing; as well as specialty classes in sculpting, goblet making, and coldwork. (See current class schedule.) We also have one of the only walk-in, interactive, hands-on glassblowing programs available in the world. (See the "Special Functions/Programs" page for more info.) Our instructors are all professional working artists with world class credentials. We emphasize individual artistic development as well as technical excellence. Enrolled students also have the opportunity to display and sell their work to the public in our onsite gallery and showroom.
In addition to the learning center, glass artist and designer Jeff Mariott and his team work directly with fine art enthusiasts to create unique expressions in glass. Through personal color selection and customer design specifications, Urban Forms' glasswork is created to be an exact fit.
